Kevin-Prince Boateng explains decision to turn down Eintracht Frankfurt return

Kevin-Prince Boateng has revealed why he rejected the chance of returning to Eintracht Frankfurt to stay in Italy.
Kevin-Prince Boateng had the possibility of returning to Eintracht Frankfurt, where he enjoyed a highly successful 2017–2018 campaign, but he opted to join Fiorentina from Sassuolo instead.

Asked why he decided to stay in Italy, Boateng said that he believes the Serie A is superior to the Bundesliga at the moment.

"I had an offer from Eintracht Frankfurt too, but I think this season the level in Serie A is superior to the Bundesliga. There are at least 10 clubs that can challenge to enter Europe and I'd add Cagliari in there too," Boateng told La Nazione, according to Football Italia.

Besides Frankfurt, the 32-year-old has previously played for Schalke 04, Hertha BSC and Borussia Dortmund in Germany.
