Daichi Kamada turned down interest from Genoa to stay at Frankfurt

Daichi Kamada reveals he was on his way to Genoa until his situation at Eintracht Frankfurt changed during the club's pre-season.
After spending last season on loan at Belgian side Sint-Truiden, Daichi Kamada has returned to Eintracht Frankfurt to play a key role from the beginning of this season.

The 23-year-old now reveals that he came close to a move to Italian side Genoa during the summer, but after a talk with Frankfurt coach Adi Hütter, he knew that he would be staying.

"I had a concrete offer from Genoa, I had talks with them and thought I would go there," Kamada told Bild.

"I talked to the coach during our second second training camp in Austria. From that point it was clear that I would stay," he said.

Kamada has started all three of Eintracht Frankfurt's Bundesliga games this season.
