Oliver Glasner hints at changes for Wolfsburg's clash with Augsburg

"I'll always select a fit player over a tired one," Wolfsburg coach Oliver Glasner said ahead of his team's Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.
Wolfsburg coach Oliver Glasner has hinted at changes ahead of Sunday's Bundesliga clash with Augsburg.

Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Glasner revealed he might make some alterations from the side that drew 2-2 with Gent in the Europe League on Thursday.

"I keep a close eye on my team and we obviously take other variables into account, such as blood levels. Our busy schedule has taken its toll in one or two areas. I rested Jerome Roussillon and started Renato Steffen against Gent, while William only played 45 minutes on the other flank," Glasner said, as quoted by the club.

"It's possible that one or two players will be given a rest against Augsburg. At the end of the day, I'll field a team that I believe will give us the best chance of winning. I'll always select a fit player over a tired one," he added.

So far, Wolfsburg are the only Bundesliga team who are yet to lose a game this season.

"Our unbeaten record isn't something we've discussed among ourselves, but it shows we have a stable side and that we're able to compensate for injuries," Glasner said.
