Friedhelm Funkel backs Benito Raman to be successful at Schalke 04
Benito Raman has been backed to be a success at Schalke 04 by his former coach Friedhelm Funkel.
Fortuna Düsseldorf coach Friedhelm Funkel feels convinced that Benito Raman will make his mark at Schalke 04.
Raman is fighting to nail down a starting berth at Schalke following his summer move from Fortuna, and Funkel is sure that the 24-year-old will eventually prove himself at Veltins-Arena.
"Benito will establish himself at Schalke, I'm convinced of that. He didn't always play for us in the beginning either. But Benito always worked hard during training. He's a player who always gives his full commitment," Funkel told Sport Bild.
Schalke paid €6,5 million to sign Raman from Fortuna Düsseldorf. The winger has scored two goals in five appearances for 'The Royal Blues' so far.
