Konrad Laimer reveals talks over new RB Leipzig deal

Konrad Laimer has revealed he's in talks with RB Leipzig over a contract extension.
RB Leipzig are working on extending Konrad Laimer's contract, the 22-year-old has confirmed in an interview with Kicker.

Laimer's current deal runs until 2021, but he would like to stay longer.

"We're in talks. I have a big desire to stay here longer. For me, everything fits here so far," Laimer said.

The 22-year-old, who has featured in nearly every game since Julian Nagelsmann took over as RB Leipzig coach in the summer, is pleased that he has played consistently in defensive midfield this season.

"During my first two years here, I often switched between playing at right-back and in midfield. I've now spent six months in my favorite position as a number six, repaying the trust placed in me. I've improved with the ball and in terms of finding solutions," Laimer told Kicker.

Laimer joined RB Leipzig from RB Salzburg in 2017. He has made 23 appearances this season, racking up four goals and two assists.
