Gerard Seoane: 'The game was like an uphill climb'

Bayer Leverkusen coach Gerard Seoane has described Thursday's Europa League game against Ferencvaros as an 'uphill climb'.
Bayer Leverkusen recovered from an early deficit as they came back to beat Hungarian side Ferencvaros 2-1 in the Europa League on Thursday.

Assessing the game after the win, Leverkusen coach Gerard Seoane said:

"It was a deserved victory after a bad start. The game was like an uphill climb.

"It got better and better and the back, we got stronger and created more goal-scoring chances."

The Leverkusen coach also provided an injury update on first-half goalscorer Exequiel Palacios, who was forced off in the 50th minute.

"Exequiel Palacios had a knock on his ankle in the first half. During the break, his foot was taped, and 'Pala' tried to keep playing. Then the pain got stronger, and I had to take him off."
