Werder Bremen coach Florian Kohfeldt has highlighted 40-year-old Claudio Pizarro's influence after last night's 2-0 win over Wolfsburg.
The veteran striker was sent on the pitch after 75 minutes and set-up Johannes Eggestein's 2-0 goal to cement the win.
"I wasn't completely satisfied with the performance today. We can't have periods in every match where we give up the game. But we have a full squad to be able to bring on someone like Claudio who can bring peace and organize, because he can hold onto the ball," Kohfeldt told Eurosport and added:
"Claudio nearly always makes the right decision, and he makes no mistakes in his ball control. He can concentrate fully on what's going on around him, because he doesn't have to worry what's going on at his feet. He's also very important in the dressing room. When you can send somebody like Claudio on the pitch, that's a privilege."
The 2-0 win means Werder are sitting second in the table and are level on points with league leaders Borussia Dortmund before the rest of this round's games.
