Robert Lewandowski has played down reports linking him with a move away from Bayern München, telling reporters he doesn't feel the need to prove himself in another league than the Bundesliga.

"I don't have to prove myself in another league. I can compete with the best from other leagues in the Champions League," said Lewandowski after receiving the 2020/21 European Golden Shoe Award on Tuesday.

"I am 100 percent focused on Bayern München. I don't think about anything else but my team."

At the age of 33, the Polish international is not thinking about retiring anytime soon.

"I am still here - and I will be here for a long time!" said Lewandowski.

"Age is just a number. I feel very good, I have the best stats I've ever had. I know that with my body I can play at the top level for years to come. I'm like a good wine and I hope to get even better."
