Robert Lewandowski broke the deadlock from the penalty spot with 12 minutes played. The referee pointed to the spot after a handball from Dynamo's Sergiy Sydorchuk, and Bayern's talismanic striker stepped up to send Georgi Bushchan the wrong way.
The Polish international was on target again in the 27th minute, placing the ball in the bottom right corner after being set up by Thomas Müller.
Bayern continued their dominance and came close to making it three when Leroy Sané's shot hit the post.
The guests didn't create much, but Manuel Neuer was forced to make a rare save to keep out a shot from Carlos de Pena a few minutes before the break.
Bayern kept creating opportunities to add to their lead and eventually made it 3-0 in the 68th minute as Serge Gnabry outran the Kiev defense and powered the ball into the roof of the net.
Leroy Sané added a fourth in the 74th minute, releasing a wild shot from the wing that sailed into the net, before second-half substitute Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting rounded off the scoring in the 87th minute.
