Manu Koné: 'My moment finally came'

Gladbach youngster Manu Koné was delighted to finally make his debut for the club last week.
Manu Koné has explained how it felt to make his Borussia Mönchengladbach debut in last week's 1-0 win over Borussia Dortmund.

After a spell on the sidelines, the 20-year-old found himself in the starting line-up for last Saturday's game.

"I was really happy," said Koné in an interview with the club's website.

"I went through a difficult period after arriving at Borussia because I got injured immediately, but I worked hard to return to fitness and to get back playing again," added the 20-year-old, who joined Gladbach from French side Toulouse in the summer.

"When the coach then told me that I was starting, I was just happy. It was a good week and I gave my all in training. The coach saw that I was ready, and I felt that way as well. My moment finally came."

Koné could make his second start in a row when Gladbach face Wolfsburg away from home in the Bundesliga this afternoon.
