Wolfsburg left-back nears return to full fitness

Paulo Otavio is edging closer to making his return from an ankle injury.
VfL Wolfsburg left-back Paulo Otavio is optimistic he will soon be at 100 percent again after having missed the opening of the season due to an ankle injury.

"I feel very, very good. I want to fight for three points on the pitch again as soon as possible. I think that could be the case very soon," Otavio told Kicker.

"I don't think it will take long for me to get back in top shape."

The 26-year-old, who made 30 appearances last season, is relishing the competition with Jerome Roussillon and Yannick Gerhardt for Wolfsburg's left-back spot.

"I have confidence in myself and my strengths. I know I have to work hard and do more to become a regular starter," said Otavio.
