The former FC Köln striker Anthony Modeste has expressed his desire to leave Chinese side Tianjin Quanjian, but the club refuse to let him go.

For the past week, the 30-year-old has been training with FC Köln's under-21 team to keep in shape. But signing Modeste on a permanent deal is currently not something that the 2. Bundesliga side are considering.

"That's so far away that I'm not even looking at it," FC Köln managing director Armin Veh told Sky and added that it's "natural" to let a player, who has scored so many goals for FC Köln, train at the club.

"Everything else is is currently not an issue," Veh said.

Modeste left FC Köln to join Tianjin Quanjian in 2017.
