Nübel's agent: If Neuer extends his Bayern deal, 'we will find a solution'

Whether Alexander Nübel returns to Bayern München when his loan spell at AS Monaco ends depends on if Manuel Neuer extends his contract.
Alexander Nübel's agent, Stefan Backs, says his client would consider leaving Bayern München if Manuel Neuer signs a contract extension.

Nübel was signed from Schalke 04 in the summer of 2019 and made just four appearances in his first season at Allianz Arena, playing second fiddle to Neuer.

As a result of this, the 25-year-old joined Monaco on a two-year loan deal ahead of this season.

Neuer, 35, is under contract until 2023, at which point Nübel will return to his parent club as things stand now.

However, should Neuer extend his contract with the Bavarians, Nübel might 'take a different path,' according to his agent.

"The situation for me is as follows: Alexander is an exceptional goalkeeper, who is currently the number one as AS Monaco, and who is getting better all the time. For me, Manuel Neuer is the best goalkeeper of all time," said Stefan Backs in an interview with Sport1.

"If Manuel extends his contract and is still untouchable in two years at the age of 37, then we will find a solution. Then Alexander will take a different path. That's not a problem."

Nübel has featured 14 times for Monaco this season.
