1. FSV Mainz 05 v. FC Augsburg:
M: Daniel Caligiuri, Midfielder (FCA, 9.7M, 1%) - Not the most intriguing of Friday night matches in a Fantasy sense. Hardly any player from both squads has shown that they should be owned by any Fantasy manager. Caligiuri grabbed his first assist of the season last weekend and has the most ability on the pitch to produce some Fantasy points. He also takes the majority of set pieces which is always a plus.
D: Jean-Paul Boëtius, Midfielder (M05, 7.1M, 1%) - Boëtius played the full 90 for the first time this season last weekend, keeping with his theme of getting better slowly as the season progresses. Coming off the back of three losses in a row, Mainz and Boëtius must show some fight and certainly have a chance of picking up points in this match.
RB Leipzig v. SpVgg Greuther Fürth:
M: Emil Forsberg, Forward (RBL, 11.6M, 3%) - Leipzig should have a field day against Fürth, with the chance of a blowout in their favor. Forsberg could and should be on the end of a few goals and assists.
D: Yussuf Poulsen, Forward (RBL, 11.1M, 1%) - Along the same lines as Forsberg, Poulsen could easily find the back of the net. Not 100% solid on the start but ultimately will find the field if this match goes to plan.
VfL Wolfsburg v. Sport-Club Freiburg:
M: Vincenzo Grifo, Midfielder (SCF, 12.8M, 2%) - Finally starting to hit form after a slow start to the season, Grifo now has a goal and an assist in his last three matches. Perfect timing as Freiburg have been in sensational form as of late, unbeaten in league play so far this season.
D: Lukas Nmecha, Forward (WOB, 8.2M, 1%) - On the opposite side of the spectrum compared to Freiburg is Wolfsburg. After a great start to the season, they are now winless in their last four. Nmecha has been seeing a lot more minutes as of late and will see more with Wout Weghorst missing more time due to covid. Nmecha did score Wolfsburg’s lone goal in their UCL loss to RB Salzburg midweek.
FC Bayern München v. TSG Hoffenheim:
M: Thomas Müller, Forward (FCB, 16.3M, 9%) - You really can’t go wrong picking just about anybody from Bayern. Müller has been on a great run of form in the league right now with two goals and two assists in his last four games.
D: Ihlas Bebou, Forward (TSG, 8.1M, 0%) - Hoffenheim’s destruction of Köln last weekend should give them some extra confidence going into their toughest matchup of the season. Bebou had his best game of the season last week, netting a brace. He will be hoping to continue his impressive form.
DSC Arminia Bielefeld v. Borussia Dortmund:
M: Jude Bellingham, Midfielder (BVB, 11.9M, 29%) - Stats wise, Bellingham has had a better start to the Champions League than the Bundesliga. One goal and two assists to his name in each competition, however, UCL was done in five less games. Even with that being said, Dortmund’s last UCL performance against Ajax was horrendous so there is no other option than rebounding with a huge win for their fans.
D: Robin Hack, Midfielder (DSC, 5.2M, 0%) - A midfielder in the Fantasy game, Hack has started the last two matches on the forward line. Fantasy managers should always look for players starting out of position further up the pitch. In the off chance Dortmund is still reeling from the UCL loss, Hack has shown the willingness to attack.
Hertha BSC v. Borussia Mönchengladbach:
M: Jonas Hofmann, Midfielder (BMG, 13.5M, 4%) - Hofmann has been on fire lately, scoring double digit Fantasy points in the last three matches. Gladbach are unbeaten in those last three as well which shows the influence that Hofmann can have on the team performances.
D: Krzysztof Piątek, Forward (BSC, 8.5M, 0%) - Piątek has played three games now since coming back from injury and has been picking up the pace in each one. He already grabbed a goal in his second game back and was a bit unlucky to have not scored a second goal last matchday as well.
1. FC Köln v. Bayer 04 Leverkusen:
M: Patrik Schick, Forward (B04, 14.7M, 10%) - The Billy Goat’s loss to Hoffenheim was a little more telling than Leverkusen’s loss to Bayern last matchday. Leverkusen should easily bounce back while Köln may have a bit to work on in regards to their confidence. Schick has also scored three goals in his last two Bundesliga games.
D: Sebastian Andersson, Forward (KOE, 8.8M, 0%) - Andersson seems to be settled at his new home, all that remains is finishing the plethora of chances that he will receive. Köln will just have to put last weekend behind them as they really have had a great start to the season under new trainer Steffen Baumgart.
VfB Stuttgart v. 1. FC Union Berlin:
M: Max Kruse, Forward (FCU, 12.1M, 2%) - While Awoniyi has gained most of the attention in recent weeks, and rightfully so, Kruse has still been playing well for the team. With only one goal and one assist in his last four matches, it could be Kruse’s turn to go off in a game.
D: Fabian Bredlow, Keeper (VFB, 1.6M, 1%) - With Florian Muller out due to covid, Bredlow will get the start again between the posts. In his first game last weekend, Bredlow played very well, scoring 12 Fantasy points off Saved Shots alone.
VfL Bochum 1848 v. Eintracht Frankfurt:
M: Martin Hinteregger, Defender (SGE, 11.3M, 7%) - A horrible performance for Frankfurt against Hertha after playing the match of their lives the week before against Bayern. They have a great opportunity against a weaker Bochum side to put last week behind them and separate themselves from the bottom of the pack. Their position at the moment is unacceptable for their talent. They should be able to hold a clean sheet this weekend.
D: Goncalo Paciencia, Forward (SGE, 4.5M, 0%) - Paciencia has hardly played at all this season until these last two weeks. He has already made an impact though, scoring as a sub against Hertha last weekend and then getting his first start of the year in the Europa League midweek. He will be looking to lock down the starting forward spot as it has been a carousel for the Eagles thus far.
