Sommer open to new Gladbach deal
Yann Sommer says is open to extending his contract with Gladbach.
Borussia Mönchengladbach goalkeeper Yann Sommer could imagine extending his contract with the Bundesliga club, which expires in 2023.
"I could continue here beyond 2023," the 32-year-old Swiss international said in an interview with Kicker.
"It is not a matter of course to have a regular place at such an ambitious club for such a long time and to be able to play successful football. For me, Borussia is simply a super club."
Talks over a new deal are yet to take place, though.
"I'm happy that my contract runs for another year and a half, and I'm quite relaxed about it," said Sommer.
Sommer joined Gladbach from Basel in 2014.
