Newcastle have reportedly joined the long list of clubs interested in Florian Wirtz.
Newcastle United have joined the race for Bayer Leverkusen youngster Florian Wirtz following their Saudi ownership takeover, according to Sport Bild.
Per the German tabloid, a scout from the Premier League side was present at Bayer Leverkusen's 2-2 draw with FC Köln to take a look at the 18-yearold.
However, Newcastle's chances of signing the highly-rated attacking midfielder appear to be slim at this point in time.
In recent weeks and months, almost every top club in Europe have been linked with Wirtz, who is under contract until 2026.
In addition, Wirtz's father and agent has said that the midfielder 'wants to play a good role in Leverkusen for the next two years'.
