Hütter laments Beyer injury after Gladbach's thumping win over Bayern

Unfortunately for Gladbach, Jordan Beyer picked up an injury in their 5-0 victory over Bayern München last night.
Borussia Mönchengladbach had plenty to celebrate on Wednesday evening as they thumped reigning champons Bayern München 5-0 in the DFB-Pokal.

Jordan Beyer's injury, however, was a bit of a fly in the ointment for Adi Hütter's troops.

"It's a muscle injury," Gladbach coach Adi Hütter revealed after the game, according to Kicker.

"He will certainly be out for a while."

Addressing Gladbach's impressive performance against Bayern, Hütter said:

"I have to compliment the team enormously. It's a victory that's more than deserved. We studied Bayern, they defend with a very high line. Today, everything worked. We played so well and so fast. We're happy to have completed this historic win."

The 21-year-old centre-back has started seven of Gladbach's last eight games in all competitions.

In their next game, Gladbach face VfL Bochum in the Bundesliga on Sunday. With Beyer out, Ramy Bensebaini will most likely play alongside Nico Elvedi and Matthias Ginter in the central defense, with Joe Scally and Luca Netz operating as wing-backs.
