Speaking to Neuen Zürcher Zeitung, Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji admits he has supported Manchester United sinice he was a boy and that he would like to play for 'The Red Devils' in the future.
"Since childhood, my favourite club has been Manchester United. I would like to play there one day," Akanji said and added:
"But right now, that's not an issue. I'm very happy in Dortmund and try to be the best possible person, both on and off the pitch."
Akanji, who moved to Germany from Basel in January, also said he thrives under Dortmund coach Lucien Favre who took over in the summer.
"I sense that the coach also wants me to take part in the offensive play as a centre-back. Favre gives me freedom and confidence to play out from the back. In addition to that, I have been given more defensive responsibility," the 23-year-old said.
The Swiss international has made 10 appearances for Dortmund this season, playing every minute so far.
