'The Billy Goats' broke the deadlock early through Anthony Modeste, but it was Union, who were in front at the break after goals from Julian Ryerson and Grischa Prömel turned the game around.
With 86 minutes on the clock, Modeste popped up again to salvage a draw for the home side.
"In the end, we are happy that we deservedly earned a draw. In the first half, we were close to going 2-1 up," Baumgart told reporters at the post-match press conference and added:
"It was annoying that we conceded the equaliser right away. Before we went behind, we had a few chances to take the lead ourselves. Then we made a small mistake, which Union exploited very well.
"Ultimately, our courage was rewarded. It was a very good game for the neutral spectator, but I'm not satisfied."
