Flick nominates Tah to replace Wirtz
With Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz officially ruled out for international duty, Bundestrainer Hans Dieter Flick has opted to nominate another player from Germany's red company team.
Jonathan Tah will rejoin the German national team one year after the 0-6 humiliation against Spain in the UEFA Nations League threatened to end his international career. New Nationalmannschaft trainer Hansi Flick is prepared to give the 25-year-old Leverkusen defender another chance after Tah's teammate Florian Wirtz had to withdraw from the 27-man-squad because of injury.
Tah was called up to Joachim Löw's squad for the initial round of World Cup Qualifiers in March, but went unused. The Hamburg native, who has 13 senior side international caps to his name, has made 16 starts thus far across all competitions for Gerardo Seoane's Werkself.
.@jonatah ist für die beiden kommenden WM-Quali-Spiele nachnominiert worden.
