Svensson reveals desire to return to Denmark
Although Bo Svensson is enjoying great success as Mainz coach, he doesn't see his personal long-term future in Germany.
Mainz coach Bo Svensson has revealed that he wants to live in his home country, Denmark, at some point in the future.
Svensson spent seven years at Mainz as a player before hanging up his boots in 2014. In January 2021, he returned to take the reins as head coach.
Asked in an interview with Goal and Spox whether the city of Mainz has become his home, Svensson replied:
"There is only one home for me, and that is Denmark.
"That's where I grew up, that's where all my other family members and my closest friends are.
"For me, it's clear that one day I will live there again."
