The 25-year-old central defender has recovered from the knee injury that kept him out of Gladbach's 4-0 victory over Greuther Fürth last week.
"Elvedi was only out for 14 days, three weeks if you count the international break," revealed Gladbach coach Adi Hütter at the pre-match press conference.
"He has been in training for a while and is looking relatively good."
In addition to Elvedi, Stefan Lainer could be back in the squad, having worked his way back from a long-term injury.
"[Lainer] has been in training for around 14 days. He has a very good chance of making the squad," said Hütter.
