Karlsruhe's request for postponement, which was announced by the club on Friday night, has been agreed by the DFL. The request came after 16 players had tested positive for the virus, it would've been impossible for Karlsruhe to play. Not just that, but playing would've also risked Sandhausen.

According to the offical club statement, the vaccination rate within KSC is 100%.

The match has been rescheduled, and will now be played on Tuesday, February 8th at 6:30 local time. If the current schedule is upheld, that means Karlsruhe will play two matches in 2 days, after hosting HSV on Sunday, February 6th, they will then host Sandhausen on the Tuesday afternoon.

The 2. Bundesliga now has two matches on Sunday, with SSV Jahn Regensburg hosting Holstein Kiel and Dynamo Dresden are travelling to Hannover.
