Report: Leverkusen target PSG youngster as Amiri replacement

With Nadiem Amiri on the verge of joining Genoa, Bayer Leverkusen could bring in PSG midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe to replace him.
Bayer Leverkusen have targeted Paris Saint-Germain's Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe as a possible replacement for Nadiem Amiri, according to Kicker.

Amiri is expected to join Genoa on loan with an obligation to buy of around €9 million that will come into effect if the 19th-placed Serie A side avoid relegation this season.

However, in contrast to what has been claimed elsewhere, Amiri will not go through a medical in Italy today, per Kicker, who claims that Leverkusen want to sign a replacement for the 25-year-old before letting him go.

Their preferred candidate is said to be 21-year-old Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe, who they want to sign on an initial loan deal. However, 'Die Werkself' need to clear a few hurdles first.

According to Kicker, PSG want to extend the player's contract, which expires in 2023, before sending him out on loan with an option to buy of at least €15 million.

That way, the French champions will put themselves in a strong negotiating position if Leverkusen don't want to activate the purchase option inserted in the deal.

A third obstacle could be Dina Ebimbe's agent, who has a different idea with the player.

Ebimbe, a central midfielder capable of playing on the right as well, has featured 12 times for PSG this season.
