Report: Julian Chabot to Köln deal nears finish line
German footballing magazine Kicker reports that the Köln's acquisition of Sampdoria defender Julian Chabot will be confirmed as early as tomorrow.
Germany's preeminent footballing publication reports that 1. FC Köln are eager to get a loan deal for former German youth international Julian Chabot over the line as soon as possible. Desperately seeking help and the center-halve position, the cathedral city club wishes to get a new player in uniform ahead of a test match against FC Schalke 04 on Thursday.
Kicker reports that Chabot will cost the Geißböche €300,000 in loan fees. There is also said to be an obligatory purchase clause in the neighborhood of €2.7 million if certain conditions are met. Köln have already called up 17-year-old CB Rijad Smajic from the youth squad for use during the practice fixture. Effzeh trainer Steffen Baumgart confirmed the the U19 defender will be used in the match.
