Müller admits he considered leaving Bayern

Thomas Müller has openly admitted that he thought about a move away from Bayern in the past.
In an interview with Sport Bild, Thomas Müller has admitted that he seriously considered leaving Bayern München back in 2019 after slipping down the pecking order under Niko Kovac.

"Yes, that could have happened. If the situation with Niko Kovač back then turned out differently, I'd probably have fewer titles by now," said Müller, who rose in importance when Hansi Flick took over in November.

"In retrospect, I'm of course happy that things turned out the way they did. For me back then, leaving would have been a painful but a necessary step.

"I had a very open conversation with the people in charge. But due to the fact there were no transfers taking place in October, it never was concrete in the end."

Müller has spent his entire career at Bayern, making 610 appearances with 223 goals and 238 assists to his name.
