Fantasy Bundesliga: Must-haves and differentials for Matchday 22

Ahead of Matchday 22, we have highlighted a must-have player (M) and a differential pick (D) from each game that you should consider for your Fantasy Bundesliga team.
RB Leipzig v. 1. FC Köln:

M: Dani Olmo, Midfielder (RBL, 12.6M, 9%) - Olmo started only his third Bundesliga match of the season last weekend and showed what Red Bull fans have been missing this whole time he has been out. He managed a respectable nine Fantasy points that included four shots taken in the match. He will be looking to get on the scoresheet for the first time this season during this Friday night fixture.

D: Jan Thielmann, Midfielder (KOE, 3.9M, 1%) - In his first start since October 30th, Thielmann provided an important spark to the Billy Goats and grabbed the assist in their 1-nil win over Freiburg. He seems to thrive when paired up top with Modeste and should continue in that position this weekend.

Eintracht Frankfurt v. VfL Wolfsburg:

M: Jesper Lindstrøm, Midfielder (SGE, 9M, 5%) - Lindstrøm has been excellent as of late for Eintracht, becoming an integral piece of the team. Since November, Lindstrøm has started all 11 matches and has produced four goals and three assists during this stretch. He has scored double digit Fantasy points in five of his last seven games as well.

D: Jonas Wind, Forward (WOB, 9M, 0%) - The young Dane from Copenhagen got his first taste of Bundesliga action last weekend after making the deadline day move to Wolfsburg. He has some large shoes to fill with the departed Weghorst off to England. They will need an immediate impact from him as they sit only two points away from the relegation playoff position.

Borussia Mönchengladbach v. FC Augsburg:

M: Florian Neuhaus, Midfielder (BMG, 12M, 5%) - Neuhaus has started and played the full 90 three games in a row for the first time all season. He had only played the full 90 once this season before, back on August 21st. Very odd for a player who started 30 of 33 games last season. With that being said, hopefully Gladbach and Neuhaus have now put any differences they had behind them and can focus on finishing off the season strong.

D: Iago, Defender (FCA, 7.1M, 0%) - Iago has been playing some fantastic defense lately, which combined with his attacking abilities makes him one of the more dangerous fullbacks in the league. He has averaged almost eight Fantasy points in each of his last four games with one assist over that time frame as well.

Sport-Club Freiburg v. 1. FSV Mainz 05:

M: Vincenzo Grifo, Midfielder (SCF, 15.3M, 8%) - Grifo is on his longest streak of the season, four games, without scoring or assisting. Do not expect that to last much longer.

D: Karim Onisiwo, Forward (M05, 9.1M, 0%) - Onisiwo is on a great run of form, scoring once and assisting twice in his last four games. Mainz are only two points back of European competition. Something most Bundesliga fans would not have predicted at the start of the season.

VfL Bochum 1848 v. FC Bayern München:

M: Thomas Müller, Forward (FCB, 20.1M, 16%) - Absolute absurd play from Müller lately. He has either scored or assisted in each of the last six games for a total of three goals and five assists over that time.

D: Kingsley Coman, Forward (FCB, 14.9M, 1%) - Coman has grabbed an assist in each of the last two matches and is a huge differential at only 1% ownership.

SpVgg Greuther Fürth v. Hertha BSC:

M: Stevan Jovetić, Forward (BSC, 10.5M, 1%) - After missing a few games, Jovetić was back in the starting lineup and proved to be influential. In his last five games that he has started since November, he has four goals and one assist

D: Vladimír Darida, Midfielder (BSC, 8.4M, 0%) - Not known for his attacking prowess, Darida has shown a new flair for the attack, putting in a noteworthy performance last weekend where he was close to having his name on the scoresheet. This weekend against Fürth should certainly allow him the freedom to get forward.

Bayer 04 Leverkusen v. VfB Stuttgart:

M: Jeremie Frimpong, Defender (B04, 8M, 11%) - Frimpong has provided two assists in the last two games and keeps improving game in and game out. His play coincides with Leverkusen’s scintillating form as they have scored 10 goals in their last two games. There are no signs of stopping.

D: Robert Andrich, Midfielder (B04, 8.6M, 1%) - Andrich has been outstanding in his last three matches, scoring twice and assisting once. He has really cemented his place in Leverkusen and like most of his teammates, he seems to keep getting better each week.

1. FC Union Berlin v. Borussia Dortmund:

M: Christopher Trimmel, Defender (FCU, 10.7M, 3%) - Although he has not been the assist king like last year, zero this year compared to nine previously, he has still been a top Fantasy defender. He still has been sending in an exorbitant amount of crosses each game and Dortmund’s defense has been as leaky as ever.

D: Sheraldo Becker, Forward (FCU, 5.7M, 0%) - This game stinks of an upset that Union may just pull off. Becker deployed in the midfield gives Union three forwards in their lineup, surely going for it all.

TSG Hoffenheim v. DSC Arminia Bielefeld:

M: David Raum, Midfielder (TSG, 11.2M, 4%) - Hoffenheim are in a dangerous skid and have lost three in a row. They must turn it around and Raum is capable of pulling it off like he did a month ago against Augsburg with a goal and an assist. With Kramarić possibly out with covid, everyone will need to step up their game.

D: Janni Serra, Forward (DSC, 6.7M, 0%) - While Hoffenheim try to return to their winning ways, they still haven’t figured out their defense. Conceding seven goals in their last three league games means Bielefeld definitely have a chance to pull off the win. Serra had the best game of his short Bundesliga career last weekend with his goal so he will be looking to follow that up with the same.
