Hoffenheim captain pens new contract

Benjamin Hübner has signed a new deal with Hoffenheim.
TSG Hoffenheim captain Benjamin Hübner has put pen to paper on a new contract with the Bundesliga club.

The 32-year-old centre-back's contract, which was due to expire at the end of the season, has been extended until 2023 with an option for another season.

"'Benni''s qualities and personality make him a central figure in our squad," said TSG director of professional football Alexander Rosen.

"With his wealth of experience, his knowledge and his absolute identification with the club, Benni should continue to pass on the TSG DNA to the next generation of players and help develop our numerous talents."

Hübner has scored eight goals and provided 11 assists in 99 games for Hoffenheim.
