Hoeness "proud" after "courageous victory"

Sebastian Hoeness was proud of his Hoffenheim sie following Saturday's 2-1 win over Wolfsburg.
Hoffenheim coach Sebastian Hoeness was delighted after watching his side earn a "courageous" 2-1 victory over Wolfsburg on Saturday.

After falling behind in the first half, 'Die Krachgauer' managed to turn the game around with two late goals, much to the delight of Hoeness, who was proud of his side.

"It was the tough game we were expecting. Both teams want to play the ball forward. It was pretty open in the first half, with a slight advantage for Wolfsburg. They deserved their lead, hence why I wasn't happy," said Hoeness after the game.

"We were more stable after the changeover. There were hardly any chances on either side. The substitutions were just right today. We turned the game around in a flash and then defended the lead with real heart. We got the necessary luck on our side today. It was a courageous victory that we are very happy to take home with us. I am proud of the boys," he continued.

Wolfsburg coach Florian Kohfeldt, by contrast, was naturally disappointed.

"It's a really frustrating loss from our perspective. We were playing really well and then threw away the win in the space of five terrible minutes," he said.

"We were able to find solutions with our football and still had chances after falling behind. That's what makes this result so infuriating. Our approach was right. Today's game was decided by the small moments that went against us," explained Kohfeldt.
