Halstenberg can "well imagine staying in Leipzig"

RB Leipzig defender Marcel Halstenberg has confirmed he's in talks with the club about an extension of his expiring contract.
Marcel Halstenberg is leaning towards extending his contract with RB Leipzig, which expires in the summer.

In an interview with Kicker, the experienced left-back confirms he has held "initial talks" with the club about a contract extension.

"I can well imagine staying in Leipzig," said Halstenberg, who has made two cameos off the bench after recovering from a long-term injury.

"I see myself at 90 percent," admitted the defender.

"When things get a bit wild on the pitch and you defend a corner and then cross after cross, I realize that there's still room for improvement."
