Sport Bild publishes list of Gladbach transfer targets
Germany's main sporting tabloid cites its own sources to reveal specific names currently targeted by Gladbach chief scout Steffen Korell as part of his squad rebuilding process.

In a recent interview with German magazine "11Freunde", Borussia Mönchengladbach scouting director noted that he and his staff had been "hitting the road to pursue interesting ideas and scout interesting players."

There obviously remains quite a bit of work to be done in rebuilding the "Fohlenelf". From an administrative perspective, it makes the most sense for the club to target young players with contracts expiring at the end of next season (2023).
Germany's primary "Boulevard-Zeitung" has some names to fit this description. Two 2. Bundesliga players--Linton Maina of Hannover 96 and Daniel-Kofi Kyereh--are said to be in the club's sights, as per tabloid SportBild. Both attackers could be available in the €2-4 million range.
Interestingly enough, the notion of bringing Japanese international Ritsu Doan back to the Bundesliga also crops up again. The former Bielefeld loanee could be available for €5-6 million. Other names being traded include Jayden Braaf (Man City), Wilfried Gnoto (FC Zurich), and Noah Mbamba (FC Brugge).
At the high market value end of Gladbach's shopping list, Bielefeld's Austrian sensation Patrick Wimmer is also thought to be in West Prussian club's sights. Gladbach will naturally have to sell players first before they can afford replacements in the €9-12 million range.
This would not be hard if market value were obtained for just one of the players (Marcus Thuram, Florian Neuhaus, Ramy Bensebaini, Jonas Hofmann, and Alassane Plea) said to be on the block.
As it does just about everywhere else in the Bundesliga when it comes to summer transfer rumors, Arsenal's Eddie N'ketiah's (available this summer on a free after his contract expires) name pops up as well. According to Sport Bild, however, new BMG sporting director Roland Virkus harbors some doubts about the 22-year-old's fortitude.
Many of the names fit the profile of Gladbach's transfer strategy in recent years. Despite the fact that chief personnel executive Max Eberl has departed, it would appear that the tactic of aiming for players in the penultimate year of their contract that cost less than €10 million still prevails.
Probably the only instance in which the BMG could be accused of being profligate in recent years came when Eberl purchased current coach Adi Hütter.
