Kicker Report: Wolfsburg close in on Patrick Wimmer acquisition

Thomas Hiete of German footballing magazine Kicker reports that Patrick Wimmer's transfer to VfL Wolfsburg nears completion. 
After rumors concerning links first began to surface some twelve days ago, Thomas Hiete of Germany's preeminent footballing publication now reports that VfL Wolfsburg are on the verge of acquiring Bielefeld's Patrick Wimmer. Hiete cites his own sources to claim that talks are "at a very advanced stage".

Austrian international Wimmer, who has scored eight goals and contributed a further eight assists this season, is available to other clubs easily courtesy of an exit clause in his current contract. Hiete elaborates on the release clause, first reported by Sky Germany yesterday.

A cording to the German journalist, Wolfsburg will pay €7 million for the player if Arminia remain in the league. The DSC receives €5 million if they are relegated. Having laready signed young Polish winger Jakub Kaminski, Germany's green company team's plan for refreshing both the right and left attacking flanks nears fruition.
