Report: Bayern not planning to sign a direct replacement for Süle

Bayern München are reportedly not planning to bring in a centre-back to replace Niklas Süle, who will be leaving to join Borussia Dortmund as a free agent this summer.
Sport Bild reports that Bayern München have decided against signing a direct replacement for Borussia Dortmund-bound Niklas Süle.

Bayern are struggling to identify a centre-back that fits the bill, both financially and in sporting terms.

Therefore, the German champions are reportedly looking to strengthen at the right-back position instead, with out-of-contract Ajax defender Noussair Mazraoui seen as their main target.

Signing a right-back would free up Benjamin Pavard for his natural position as a central defender.

The French international has already been deployed in central defense numerous times this season, playing in a back three in head coach Julian Nagelsmann's 3-2-4-1 formation.
