Kimmich: 'That was my weakest game for Bayern in three and a half years'
Joshua Kimmich says his performance against Freiburg in the past weekend was his worst in a Bayern München shirt.
Bayern München coach Niko Kovac moved Joshua Kimmich from his usual right-back position to test him in the defensive midfield in Saturday's 1-1 draw with SC Freiburg.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday's Champions League game against AEK Athens, Kimmich self-critically admitted that he disappointed himself with his performance in midfield.
"The game against Freiburg was my weakest game for Bayern in three and a half years," Kimmich, who joined Bayern from RB Leipzig in 2015, said according to Sport1.
Nevertheless, Kimmich made it clear he is open to play in the defensive midfield again if that's where he's needed.
"I don't care where I play, but I'm sure I don't want to repeat the performance I delivered on Saturday," he said.
The 23-year-old also underlined that he is aiming for a superior win on Wednesday.
"We want to win the game, of course - and in a superior way, so we can increase our confidence," he said.
