Borussia Dortmund are currently four points ahead of Bayern at the top of the Bundesliga, and their current form and advantage of playing at home make them favourites for the game, says Kovac.
"We have to improve against Dortmund, that's very clear. But Dortmund play at home, Dortmund are on top, and Dortmund go forward. That will definitely give us some space. I think it will be an open game which will end better for us," Kovac told Sky and added:
"We have to look at the table, and the table says very clear that Dortmund are four points ahead and have a very good goal difference. Dortmund are certainly favourites, because they also play at home. But Bayern München can beat any opponent - no matter where. We want to win the game."
Last night, Bayern München won 2-0 against AEK in the Champions League, and Kovac is happy with the result although he would have liked to score a few more goals.
"We deserved to win. We didn't allow them to do anything for 90 minutes. In the second half, we would have liked to reward ourselves more for the hard work with two or three goals. But I'm happy with the result. It wasn't a huge show, but we didn't expect it to be."
