Thomas Müller becomes first player in history to win the Bundesliga 11 times

Bayern München veteran Thomas Müller set a new record tonight as he became the first player in history to win 11 Bundesliga titles. "You have to give everything every year," he said after the game.
Thomas Müller became the first player ever to win the Bundesliga 11 times as Bayern München clinched the title with a 3-1 victory over Borussia Dortmund tonight.

Reacting to the title win and his new record, Müller said:

"We really wanted it today. There has been a lot of frustration in the last few days. We were able to get that off our chest today. Becoming German champions is the best thing. Of course, the Champions League is the icing on the cake. But the Bundesliga is what fans go to stadiums for.

"You have to give everything every year. The thirst of our competitors is getting bigger and bigger. But when you see how we played against Dortmund, our biggest rival, it's outstanding. You always have to go to the maximum. I'm happy that I can make my contribution to that every year."

When asked about his negotiations with Bayern over a new deal beyond 2023, Müller admitted:

"The feeling today is that it's difficult to leave."
