Frank Linkesch of German footballing magazine Kicker reports that SpVgg Greuther Fürth head-coach Stefan Leitl must make a decision about his future by April 30th.

According to Frank Linkesch of German footballing magazine Kicker, we shall soon know whether rumors linking Greuther Fürth head-coach Stefan Leitl to FC Schalke 04 or possibly Hertha BSC have any credence to them. The trainer of the recently relegated Kleeblätter has until April 30th to make a decision concerning the exit clause in his current contract.

It seems likely that Leitl might depart for another club, particularly in light of the fact that the 44-year-old has reportedly resisted efforts by club sporting director Rachid Azzouzi to sign him to a contract extension. Leitl's current contract runs through 2023.

Linkesch reports that Leitl has until April 30th to decide whether to activate his release clause. It may not necessarily be the case that the Fürth trainer has a new job within his sights.

Leitl may yet sign a contract extension with the club, simply announce that he will fulfill his existing deal, or even (understandably) announce that he's taking a break from football after what has surely been an exhausting and stressful year in charge of the Bundesliga's last-placed team.
