Leverkusen want to keep Aranguiz beyond the summer

Bayer Leverkusen want to hold on to Charles Aranguiz beyond the summer, says club boss Rudi Völler.
Although Charles Aranguiz has just one year left on his current contract, Bayer Leverkusen have no plans of letting him go in the summer.

"We will have many weeks with multiple games next season as well, and for that we need squad depth – and Aranguiz," Leverkusen managing director for sport Rudi Völler told Bild.

"'Charly' often had to fight injuries, but you can see that he's physically fit again," he added.

The 33-year-old central midfielder has played for Leverkusen since 2015, making 196 appearances with 15 goals and 27 assists to his name.
