Ondrej Duda will be allowed to return to first team training next week, according to Express.de.

The 27-year-old midfielder was suspended for disciplinary reasons last Sunday, with the club explaining that he had "put his interests above the concerns of the team".

But he's expected to be back with his teammates from next week after being pardoned by head coach Steffen Baumgart.

Duda himself has dismissed suggestions that he refused to come on towards the end of Köln's 3-1 win over Arminia Bielefeld, with the 27-year-old insisting that he stopped warming up because he felt sufficiently prepared to enter the pitch if needed.

"I felt ready if the coach decided to let me play the last five minutes," Duda emphasized, adding that it wasn't his intention to "behave disrespectfully towards the club and the fans."
