Tipped as a potential breakthrough candidate this year by both Bulinews and German footballing magazine Kicker, young French defender Tanguy Nianzou has not necessarily played a bad season for recently-crowned Bundesliga champions FC Bayern München.

The 19-year-old has put in his minutes in 20 (six league starts) appearances across all competitions. He's even scored once and garnered an assist in the league. When it comes to finding a sustainable candidate to replace the soon-to-depart Niklas Süle, however, FCB head-coach Julian Nagelsmann would prefer an external reinforcement.

This is if a report appearing in France's L'Equipe is to be believed. The French sports daily notes that Nagelsmann wishes to retain the central defender, but would prefer to park him in a loan locale for a season or possibly longer. The same report also claims that FCB sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic remains an advocate of the teenager and is less interested in loaning him out.

L'Equipe cites AS Monaco and Bayer 04 Leverkusen as potential destinations. A loan to RB Leipzig is also floated, though moving him to a team expected to challenge Bayern for the title next year might not be prudent. The report's author claims that German media sources are also picking up on the potential rumor. Specific sources are nevertheless not cited.
