Report: AEK set for outright purchase of Eintracht's Zuber

According to Greek sporting publication "Sport Time", AEK Athens have informed Eintracht Frankfurt that they plan to exercise their purchase option for Swiss winger Steven Zuber.
The loan-arrangement that sent Bundesliga veteran Steven Zuber to Greece last autumn is set to be made permanent, as per journalist Giannis Chorianopoulos of Greek magazine "Sport Time". The former Hoffenheim midfielder/winger has scored seven goals and contributed four assists in 34 competitive appearances for Greek Super League club AEK Athens this season.

After a highly successful tournament for the Swiss national team at last summer's European Championship, Zuber lodged a transfer request with his  current Bundesliga club. The veteran of nine Bundesliga seasons with Frankfurt, Hoffenheim, and VfB Stuttgart wanted to take his career in a different direction.

The report notes that the SGE will pocket some €2 million for the official transfer of the 30-year-old.
