Watzke: 'You will not see such a game in England or Spain'
Borussia Dortmund boss Hans-Joachim Watzke considers yesterday's match against Bayern München 'an advertisement for football'.
Yesterday's 'Der Klassiker' between Borussia Dortmund and Bayern München, which ended with a 3-2 win to the BVB, had it all from the start to the finish - lots of goals, drama, excitement and a great atmosphere.
According to Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke, the game was a great advertisement for the Bundesliga - and for football in general.
"If you see the game in its entirety, a draw would have been fair. But the most important thing is that it was an advertisement for football. You will not see such a game in England or Spain," Watzke told Sky.
After the win, league leaders Dortmund are seven points clear of Bayern München, but Watzke believes the Bavarians are capable of bouncing back.
"I don't have the impression that Bayern stagger. They showed yesterday that they are doing just fine. The Bundesliga is simply better this year. Teams like Augsburg and Bremen are hard to play against. A draw against Freiburg can happen. You have to count on Bayern München until the last matchday," the Dortmund boss said.
