Weinzierl named as a candidate to replace Hoeness as Hoffenheim coach

After announcing that he will leave his role as Augsburg coach, Markus Weinzierl could replace the recently dismissed Sebastian Hoeness at Hoffenheim.

Markus Weinzierl is understood to be an option to replace Sebastian Hoeness as Hoffenheim coach.
Hoffenheim announced their decision to part company with Hoeness yesterday, and 'Die Kraichgauer' have Weinzierl on their list of possible successors, with the club looking for an experienced Bundesliga coach, according to Bild.
Weinzierl has confirmed that he will not be extending his contract with Augsburg, which expires in the summer.
The 47-year-old has had two stints at Augsburg and has previously coached Jahn Regensburg, Schalke 04 and VfB Stuttgart as well.
