Hoffenheim have made contact with FC Zürich coach André Breitenreiter as they look for a replacement for the recently dismissed Sebastian Hoeness, according to Kicker.
Breitenreiter, who recently lead FC Zürich to the Swiss league title, has a reported €300,000 release clause in his contract.
Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hertha BSC are also said to be interested in the 48-year-old.
The coach recently stated that a return to Germany is "always attractive", but also stressed that "the Bundesliga is not the only priority" for him.
