Bayern chief hits out at Lewandowski's agent

Wantaway Bayern forward Robert Lewandowski has had his "head turned" by his agent, according to club boss Hasan Salihamidzic.
Bayern München board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic has hit out at Robert Lewandowski's agent, Pini Zahavi.

Lewandowski announced his desire to leave Bayern following the club's last game of the season against Wolfsburg, claiming that the club had not offered him a new deal beyond 2023, at which point he's out of contract.

Salihamidzic, however, insists this is not the truth and accuses Zahavi of turning the 33-year-old striker's head.

"He got an offer. I don't know what the agent said to his player, but we definitely made an offer," Salihamidzic told Sport1 (Via Fotmob) and added:

"We had a conversation with the consultant and said very clearly how we imagined the future, with a very clear sum and terms.

"He has an advisor, who has turned his head and has turned it all year round. It's not clean.

"We have the greatest respect for Lewy. FC Bayern have always behaved correctly."

In the same interview, Salihamidzic revealed that Bayern are edging closer to an extension of Manuel Neuer's contract, which expires in 2023.

"I'm very optimistic. Manuel is one of the keys to success. Please be patient, but we're on the right track. We're on the home stretch," said the Bayern chief.
