BVB confirm Terzic appointment

Borussia Dortmund officially introduced Edin Terzic's appointment as the club's new trainer on Monday.
The man who led the BVB to a triumph in the DFB Pokal Final last year is now back in charge of the BVB. Dortmund confirmed Edin Terzic as the club's head coach some three days after dismissing Marco Rose. As reported earlier, the club spent the weekend negotiating with Terzic. On Monday, the 39-year-old signed a contract through 2025.

Ware convinced that this personnel decision is the right one for the BVB," BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl, noted "Edin knows our club, the environment, a large part of the team and knows precisely how to augment matters in order to turn over program into a successful one. The 2022/23 season is marked by a new sporting beginning. We will drive this forward together with great joy and passion."

"By now, many people should be aware of the special place the BVB has in my life," Terzic is quoted as saying on the club's website. "I would therefore like to express my sincere thanks to Aki Watzke, Michael Zorc and Sebastian Kehl for the great trust they have placed in me."

In 2010, Terzic began as a scout and youth coach at the BVB. He later served as Slaven Bilic's co-coach at Besiktas and West Ham United for four years from 2013 to In 2018, Terzic returned to his heart's club and from then on assisted Lucien Favre, whom he took over for on an interim basis in December 2020.

After a sluggish beginning and drop to seventh place in the table, Terzic had an outstanding spring with die Schwarzgelben, winning all of the last seven Bundesliga games and securing a place in the Champions League. The cup victory with an exhilarating 4:1 over RB Leipzig in the final was the highlight of the young head coach's career for the time being.
