Pléa: Our goal is the Champions League

Borussia Mönchengladbach's in-form striker Alassane Pléa has talked about the club's ambition of qualifying for the Champions League.
Alassane Pléa says he will do everything he can to make Gladbach reach their biggest goal of the season - qualifying for the Champions League.

And so far, so good. Gladbach are currently sitting second in the Bundesliga table.

"It's our goal. It's up to us to do everything we can to make it happen. I don't know if we can do it, but we'll try," Pléa told Bild.

Pléa has netted eight times in 11 Bundesliga games this season and was recently rewarded for his fine performances as he was called up for the French national team for the first time.

"I've been in the preliminary squad a couple of times. The fact that I was finally called up is a great honor for me. It has always been my dream to play for France," the 25-year-old said.

Pléa joined Gladbach from OGC Nice for €23 million in the summer and thus became the club's most expensive signing ever.
