Report:
Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané offered to Real Madrid

By Andrew Asher

Spanish news outlet MARCA reports that the agent of Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sané has contacted Real Madrid about the potential signing of the 26-year old winger this summer. The German international joined Bayern in July 2020 from Manchester City for €60 million on a five-year deal.

Sané’s return to Germany has not been a quite as successful as many would have hoped when Bayern plucked the youngster from City in 2020. He did however manage seven goals and seven assists in 33 Bundesliga games last season as well as an impressive twelve goal contributions in ten Champions League matches. With three years left on his current deal, any transfer to Real Madrid would surely command a significant fee, one that would at least help Bayern to recoup a large portion of the €60 million that was shelled out for the pacey winger just two years ago.

MARCA’s source, Aleix Generó of DefensaCentral, states that the move came about during negotiations for Luka Jović’s move to Fiorentina, who is represented by the same player agency. MARCA also reports however that Real Madrid are not currently concentrated on any incomings and are more focused on players leaving the club. If a deal is to be struck for the 26-year old, it is likely that outgoings would have to come first.
