Sky Reports: Laimer to Bayern and Raum to Leipzig both to be concluded this week

Rumors to the contrary notwithstanding, Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany took an adamant stand on two rumored transfers involving RB Leipzig on last night's "Transfer Update Show".
German transfer expert Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany claims that a breakthrough in the talks to send Austrian midfielder Konrad Laimer to FC Bayern München was achieved early on Monday evening. Speaking on last night's "Transfer Update" show on Sky Germany, Plettenberg went so far as to suggest that the deal would be completed prior to Saturday's DFL-Supercup.

"Bayern are optimistic that they can acquire him this week," Plettenberg noted, "the transfer should still work out, possibly before the Supercup."

Regarding reports that a lowball effort from Leipzig might end up nixing the transfer of German national team midfielder David Raum from Hoffenheim to the German Red Bulls, Plettenberg dismissed such rumors and even suggested that particular deal would be concluded sooner.

"We recently got the information that something could happen tonight. Keyword: final talks," Plettenberg said last night, "We hear they're not so far apart. A quick conclusion is expected."

Concluding the transfers in quick succession would make sense for Oliver Mintzlaff and the RB administrative team. Both deals are expected to involve transfer fees in the neighborhood of €30 million, giving the Leipzig administrators a clean financial offset in addition to time for coherent squad planning ahead of the new season.
