Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Chelsea F.C. have once again resumed their pursuit of RB Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol.

Previous claims that EPL sides had offered up to €80 million for the services of Leipzig defender Josko Gvardiol have been vehemently denied. So too have reports that Chelsea were considering swapping the since-transferred-back to Leipzig striker Timo Werner in return for the Croatian center-halve.

Italian transfer insider Fabrizio Romano is nevertheless fanning the flames once again, this time claiming that the London Blues have place €90 million on the table for the 20-year-old. Moreover, Chelsea are prepared to loan Gvardiol back out to Leipzig for the duration of the campaign, meaning he wouldn't officially move to the Isle until the summer of 2023.

The likelihood of this report being true seems rather remote, but it might be the case that the two clubs are at least taking again. Gvardiol has had some form issues in recent deployments and the club could secure a big transfer plus on the player they paid Dinamo Zagreb €18.8 million for prior to the 2021/22 campaign.
